October 24th
Kundalini Yoga & Medicine Ceremony

Kundalini Yoga, Medicine Songs, Cacao (Peruvian) and Amazonian Plant Medicine Rapéh and Sananga (Yawanawá, Brazil)

Join Jenny and Lydia for this powerful ceremony on Saturday 24th October at Stockbridge venue, LifeCare Edinburgh

Lydia begins by serving Amazonian medicines while offering traditional medicine prayers to connect inward, release and let go. Jenny will then lead us through a powerful yet grounding practice of kundalini yoga which includes breathwork & mantra, followed by a deep relaxation with sound to help the practice and the medicines integrate. We spend time at the end connecting and sharing with ceremonial cacao, and healthy nutritious, homemade snacks

ABOUT THE MEDICINES

Sananga is a traditional Amazonian plant preparation administered as eye drops. The initial sensation can be intense but is usually brief. Traditionally, it is used as a cleansing and grounding practice and to support focus and presence.

Rapéh (Hapé) is a sacred tobacco-based snuff traditionally used by Indigenous peoples of the Amazon, including the Yawanawá. It is traditionally used in prayer and ceremony as a grounding medicine, supporting clarity, presence and connection.

These are traditional ceremonial medicines, not psychedelics. They are not suitable for everyone and certain health conditions and circumstances may mean they should be avoided.

KUNDALINI YOGA

Jenny will guide you through a grounding Kundalini Yoga practice incorporating movement, breathwork, mantra and meditation, helping you connect more deeply with your body and breath.

The practice will finish with deep relaxation and sound, creating space to integrate the experience.

CEREMONIAL CACAO

We will also be sharing ceremonial cacao, a nourishing and grounding way to come back together, energise and life our energy. We will finish with allowing time to connect, share and enjoy homemade, nutritious snacks.

Lydia is an integrative psychologist and student of Yawanawá culture and spirituality, Lydia has lived in the Amazon jungle, immersing herself in the teachings of the Yawanawá people. She has also helped establish the Emâ Vena retreat centre and continues to support Indigenous communities through ceremonial work and fundraising.

Jenny is a kundalini yoga teacher and postpartum doula, who has a passion for bringing healing modalities to her community through these collaborations.
